NZ Police Pre-employment drug and alcohol test on-line booking form

Welcome to the NZ Police Pre-employment drug and alcohol test on-line booking form. Please complete all sections of this form so that The Drug Detection Agency (TDDA) can arrange a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as efficiently as possible.

Below is some important information you need to know in relation to your pre-employment drug and alcohol test:

  • Once you have submitted this form, a TDDA representative will contact you within 24 hours to confirm your booking time and date.
  • You need to bring to the appointment a reputable form of photo ID. The best is either a driver’s licence or a passport.
  • It is best to drink a normal amount of fluids prior to coming to your appointment, so that you will be able to provide a urine sample. Drinking excessive fluids can make the test invalid due to dilution.
  • Prior to the urine drug test, the TDDA technician will ask you if you have recently taken any medication. It is important you know what medication you are taking so this can be listed on the testing form.
  • The drug test is a urine drug screen in which you will be asked to provide a urine sample. This will be monitored, meaning the TDDA technician will be within close proximity to you when you provide the urine sample.
  • You will get a drug screen result at the completion of the test. TDDA will also provide this information to the NZ Police.
  • If your drug screen returns a result that indicates a drug is present, you do have the option to have the sample sent to a lab for a confirmation test. This will be at your expense at $150 and you will be required to pay for this up front.
  • At the time of the test you will need to confirm if the role you are applying for is either constabulary or non-constabulary. You will also need to provide the job application identification number (if one has been provided to you)
